Emails Clubs: There are email clubs for restaurants, stores and products. If you sign up for these clubs by going to their website and submitting your email you are often offered coupons and sometimes free products especially for your birthday. Sometimes you may be offered free products without redeeming your points. For example the CVS Extra Bucks program sometimes will send you coupons for free products such as lip balm.

Rebates: With a rebate you must first purchase the product and then you are reimbursed after you complete the rebate requirements. There are different types of rebate programs. Some rebates you can complete on-line such as the Rite Aid and Staples rebate programs. Most rebates require you to mail your receipt and proof of purchase (the bar code from the package of the item). All rebates will not reimburse taxes or postage if you are required to mail forms. Most rebates will only reimburse what you paid for the product. For example if the rebate amount is $5 and you use a $1 off coupon which means you paid $4 for the product then you will only be reimbursed $4. However if you participate in the Rite Aid program will you receive the full amount of the rebate even if you use coupons.

The easiest way to combine a coupon with a sale is using a BOGO coupon with a BOGO sale you can get two products for free since it is actually two different sales, one from the manufacturer and one from the store. You could also use a $1 off coupon with a product that is on-sale for $1 to get the product for free.
